If you've ever wondered what would happen if a craft brewery and a live music venue had a baby, Backstage Brewing Company out of Sacramento, CA is your answer. Located on 24th Street in Sacramento, Backstage is equal parts brewery, manufacturing operation, and entertainment space, and the vibe they've created is unlike anything else in the craft beer scene.

Who They Are

Walking into Backstage feels like stepping into a Nashville bar that got a Hollywood rock makeover. Live music, quality craft beverages, and a casual, comfortable atmosphere that makes you want to stay a while. They're not just brewing beer, they're creating an experience, and that passion for community and craft comes through in everything they do.

Their team is currently energized by experimentation, leaning into new seltzer recipes built for spring and summer drinking. Expect that creativity to show up in their lineup for years to come.

What They're Pouring

Backstage is bringing a solid spread to the 9th Annual Tahoe Brewfest:

  • Crowd Surfer West Coast Hazy IPA — A nod to their music roots, this one brings the energy.

  • Soundcheck Lite IPA — A lighter IPA that's approachable and easy to drink all day. One of their top recommendations for first-timers.

  • Pelotero Mex Lager or Groupie Blonde Ale — Crisp, refreshing options for those who like to keep it smooth.

  • 21UP Seltzer — Their lemon lime seltzer is a fan favorite and another top recommendation straight from the team. Light, refreshing, and perfect for a day out in the sun.

They may also have something limited on hand depending on what's rotating at the time, so it's worth asking when you roll up to their booth.

Why Tahoe Brewfest

Backstage is making their Tahoe Brewfest debut in 2026, and the excitement is genuine. Tahoe is one of the most beautiful parts of the country, and the idea of tying great beer together with great people from all over is exactly the kind of experience they're here for. They're looking forward to making it a memorable one.

As for beer styles deserving more attention? Their answer might be the most wholehearted one we've heard: every beer deserves attention. Like an artist with a blank canvas, every brewer puts something of themselves into the recipe. We love that.

See you at their van on August 29th. 🍺
