Not every brewery can claim to be the first of its kind in their city — but Pigeon Head Brewery out of Reno, NV can. As the first and only lager-focused brewery in Reno, they've carved out a lane all their own, and they're bringing that same focus and craft to Tahoe Brewfest 2026.

Who They Are
Pigeon Head is a small craft brewery that does one thing better than just about anyone in their market: lagers. While most breweries treat lagers as an afterthought, Pigeon Head has built their entire identity around them — with a handful of year-round lagers on tap and a rotating lineup of seasonal styles that keeps things fresh.
They also brew unique ales that push the boundaries of what beer can taste like. Small but mighty, and proud of it.
What They're Pouring
Simple, focused, and confident — just like their brewing philosophy:
Pilsner — The flagship and top seller. A light, crisp Czech-style lager that pairs with just about everything and keeps you coming back for another. If you've never had a Pigeon Head beer before, start here.
Silver Sage Pale Ale — This one is genuinely unique. A session pale ale dry hopped with Citra hops and sage leaf, it'll give you a completely different perspective on what beer can be. Pairs beautifully with anything citrusy.

What Makes Them Tick
Beyond their year-round lineup, Pigeon Head runs a small pilot system dedicated to seasonal and experimental brews — available exclusively at their taproom. From trend-driven releases to wild experimentations, they like to play with just about everything. You'll have to visit Reno to see what's on tap at any given time, which is kind of the point.
They're also making no secret about the style they think deserves more love right now: lagers. And honestly, they've earned the right to say it.
What to Expect at Their Booth
Two beers, both year-round, both dialed in. Pigeon Head isn't trying to overwhelm you with options — they're here to introduce themselves and let the beer do the talking. The Silver Sage Pale Ale in particular is worth seeking out. There's nothing quite like it, and Tahoe Brewfest may be your best chance to try it if you're not making a trip to Reno anytime soon.

Why Tahoe Brewfest
For Pigeon Head, Tahoe Brewfest is about connection — meeting people from all over who've made the trip to one of the most beautiful places in the world and sharing a beer with them. They're also genuinely excited to support an event that benefits the Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe. They hope you walk away curious enough to reach for a Pigeon Head the next time you're looking for something cold and worth drinking.
See you at their booth on August 29th. 🍺
